One Nation One Ration Card System is an important citizen-centric reform. Its implementation ensures availability of ration to beneficiaries under National Food Security Act (NFSA) and other welfare schemes, especially the migrant workers and their families, at any Fair Price Shop (FPS) across the country.

 

Brief Pointers about the scheme

1.   The One Nation One Ration Card scheme aims to ensure all beneficiaries to migrants from any part of the country.

2.   From now on, the migrants will get wheat, rice and other food grains from any Public Distribution System (PDS) shop of their choice. 

3.   Rajasthan has become the twelfth state in the country to successfully undertake 'One Nation One Ration Card system'. 

4.   The 11 other states include Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Tripura and Uttar Pradesh.

5.   "One Nation One Ration Card scheme is being implemented by 32 States and UTs, reaching about 69 crore beneficiaries", said Nirmala Sitharaman.
